The award will be given to Goldin by Kering and Les Rencontres d’Arles, an annual summer photography festival, on July 8, in conjunction with the presentation of Goldin’s work <em>Stendhal Syndrome</em> (2024) at the Église Saint-Blaise as part of the festival.</p>",

"intro": "<p><em>Richard Avedon at the Carter</em> features forty photographs from <a href=\"/artists/richard-avedon/\" title=\"\">Avedon</a>’s iconic series <em>In the American West</em> (1979–84) in celebration of the fortieth anniversary of its initial presentation at the Amon Carter Museum. Commissioned by the museum, Avedon spent six years traveling through the Western half of the United States, making portraits of more than a thousand people he met along the way. The exhibition includes archival photographs captured by artist Laura Wilson, who accompanied Avedon on his journey, as well as rarely seen memorabilia from the 1985 installation and opening events, all of which allow visitors a deeper insight into the creation of these striking artworks.</p>",
