Front Desk Associate

Gagosian seeks a full-time Front Desk Associate to join its Hong Kong team. 

The ideal candidate will be friendly yet professional, maintain composure under pressure, has excellent judgment and ability to prioritize, possess sound organizational, research and writing skills with a keen attention to detail, the ability to work responsively and with discretion, a great memory for faces, and outstanding phone manner.

 Responsibilities include but not limited to:
– Manage reception area, juggle incoming and outgoing phone calls in a bright and professional manner.
– Maintain a clean and tidy reception area.
– Greet visitors and interface with the public.
– Learn faces and names of those within the industry.
– Interact with gallery employees, clients and interns at all levels.
– Manage gallery email account.
– Assist gallery openings, special events and meetings, such as the preparation of beverages, room reservations, press packets, catalogues, etc.
– Manage and prepare shipments and courier deliveries, book reservations for appointments, order supplies, etc.
– Provide general administrative support for all departments.
– Maintain general office and kitchen supply inventories.
– Assist with ad hoc projects as requested.

Qualifications and requirements
– BA and/or Master’s degree in Art History or related field.
– Minimum one year’s experience in a gallery, museum or relevant field, including internships.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
– Ability to work additional hours as needed for client viewings, openings and events.

Position Type
Full-Time/Regular position.

Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience; comprehensive benefits package.
