Gagosian is seeking a part-time Shop Sales Associate to join its Shop team at 976 Madison Avenue.

We are looking for a an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with excellent communication skills who is both a self-starter and a collaborative team player. The ideal candidate loves to interact with the public and can thrive in a fast-paced and high-end art boutique. This individual must be extremely detail oriented with the ability to multitask.

The position schedule is Mondays and Saturdays from 10:00am–6:00pm, with additional hours for holidays, openings and events.

Responsibilities include but not limited to
– Providing excellent customer service to Gagosian’s loyal client base in a pleasant and helpful manner
– Maintain shop floor by ensuring all areas are clean, tidy, presentable and organized, as well as maintain Shop merchandise, help with replenishment, receiving, ticketing and visual displays
– Work closely and assist the full-time staff and Assistant Shop Manager on all aspects of Shop operations and sales floor coverage
– Assist in the packing, labeling, and unpacking of all merchandise, framed posters and books, and gift wrapping for customers
– Some art handling and hanging of framed works, patching and retouching walls
– Customer service, answering calls and emails for shop inquiries
– Handling all aspects of daily sales; cash, credit card transactions
– Attending and assisting with Gagosian events, openings, and shop events which occasionally requires late nights.

Requirements
– Must be comfortable working with the public, handling PPE and enforcing gallery and NYS health protocols
– Some art handling experience preferred
– Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally climb ladders
– Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as determined by business volume; some late nights for special events, VIP visits and openings will be necessary
– Must be available to work a holiday schedule

Part-Time/Regular/Non-Exempt position

Compensation
$22 per hour
