Join Gagosian for a conversation between Thomas Houseago and Amélie Simier, director of the Musée Rodin, Paris, appointed in May 2021. Moderated by art historian and Gagosian director Richard Calvocoressi, the discussion will look at contemporary sculpture and its foundation in Auguste Rodin’s radical forms, Houseago’s ongoing exploration of both human representation and abstraction, and process in both artists’ practices, including their common use of classical materials such as bronze and plaster. The trio will also discuss a forthcoming exhibition pairing sculptures by both artists at Gagosian in London. To join the online event, register at eventbrite.com.

Thomas Houseago will be honored at the De Ateliers Gala in Amsterdam on March 8, 2018. Founded in 1963 in Haarlem by artists, De Ateliers is an international institute that helps young artists to develop their talent through a two-year program. Houseago was a participant from 1994 to 1996.

In celebration of the new Jil Sander flagship store in Kyoto BAL, Japan, creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier partnered with Yoshitaka Haba, president of BACH, to create KIOSK, a temporary concept store and café. Offering limited-edition books, magazines, and traditional Japanese stationery, the kiosk invites the public to explore the resonances between the brand’s ethos and the work of writers, poets, and graphic designers.
