On the occasion of FIAC 2019, Giuseppe Penone presents Matrice di linfa (Matrix of Lymph) (2008) at the Palais d’Iéna in Paris, home to France’s Conseil Économique Social et Environnemental. The 141-feet-long tree, stripped of eighty years of ring growth, echoes the council’s environmental commitment and celebrates the eightieth anniversary of the Palais d’Iéna, designed by Auguste Perret. The work is accompanied by two new sculptures. This is Penone’s first exhibition in Paris since 2013.
