Launching September 16, 2020

Gagosian is unveiling a new vision for the Artist Spotlight series that will operate independently of our exhibition program. This will cement the platform’s status as a vibrant aspect of the gallery’s programming that allows artists to operate imaginatively beyond the physical exhibition format.

The second season of Artist Spotlight—a series that focuses on an individual artist for one week each month—premieres on September 16, 2020, with a new project by legendary artist Ed Ruscha. A selection of works by preeminent artists—including John Currin, Takashi Murakami, Nathaniel Mary Quinn, and Rachel Whiteread—will debut this fall. Rachel Feinstein and John Currin and Shio Kusaka and Jonas Wood will be honored at the 2018 Hirshhorn New York Gala at Lincoln Center on November 5, 2018. This year the annual event celebrates twenty-five duos whose achievements—both individually and collectively—have played a formative role in shaping the next generation of art history.

Gagosian announces the launch of a free iPad app, designed by award-winning firm RadicalMedia, which offers unprecedented access and takes users on an in-depth journey with Gagosian’s artists and exhibitions, presented through visually stunning, richly informative and innovative features on June 12, 2011.

Artists featured in this issue include Richard Avedon, Cecily Brown, John Chamberlain, John Currin, Vera Lutter, Kazimir Malevich, Elizabeth Peyton, Pablo Picasso, Richard Prince, Robert Rauschenberg, and Rudolf Stingel.
