Frank Gehry will speak with Maja Hoffmann, founder of the LUMA Foundation, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, artistic director of the Serpentine Galleries, as part of Frieze’s Conversations on Patronage. The new series explores the social and civic impact of art patronage. The event is free with fair admission.

Six additional acres have been added to the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art. The expansion features twenty-six new works including Frank Gehry’s Bear With Us (2014) and Thomas Houseago’s Striding Figure (Rome I) (2013).

Louis Vuitton X celebrates the fashion house’s 160-year history of artistic collaborations and marks the world premiere of the Artycapucines Collection. The line includes limited-edition reinterpretations of the label’s iconic Capucines bag by six artists including Urs Fischer, Alex Israel, and Jonas Wood. The exhibition also brings together a collection of early twentieth-century special-order trunks, art deco perfume bottles, iconic Monogram bags reworked by artists such as Frank Gehry and Cindy Sherman, and original collaborations by artists such as Richard Prince.

Bono, the driving force behind (RED), invited artist Theaster Gates and architect Sir David Adjaye to cocurate a selection of contemporary art and design that will be auctioned by Sotheby’s on December 5, 2018, during Art Basel in Miami Beach and Design Miami/ 2018. Gagosian will present a preview exhibition of the works at the famed Moore Building in Miami, which will open on World AIDS Day, December 1.
Artists donating works include Ai Weiwei, Christo, Rachel Feinstein, Teresita Fernández, Frank Gehry, Jennifer Guidi, Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson, Jeff Koons, Guillermo Kuitca, Marilyn Minter, Wangechi Mutu, Jenny Saville, and Sean Scully; Adjaye and Gates will also contribute unique pieces.
Proceeds from this year’s auction will support community-based programs in Africa through the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, while also providing assistance to fight HIV through community-strengthening programs in Chicago with Theaster Gates’s Rebuild Foundation. Brigitte Benkemoun’s book Je suis le carnet de Dora Maar takes a novel approach to the art of biography. For the Quarterly, Benkemoun recounts her discovery of a mysterious Hermès address book, the subsequent realization of its genius former owner, and her journey to learn more about the life, friends, and art of Dora Maar.
